Chitwan National Park Tour

It is located in Chitwan District, Narayani Zone of Central Development Region. It covers an area of 932sq km is the first national park and later on which was established in 19733 as Royal Chitwan Park and later on this was included in the World Heritage Site in 1984 by UNESCO .Now a days it is one of the most popular tourist destination of Nepal. It shelters some rare species of animals like one horned rhinoceros and the Bengal tigers. Besides animals, there are different species of birds and reptiles. The things which can be done in Chitwan National Park are :i) Elephant Safari ii) Jeep Safari iii) Elephant Breeding farm. iv) Tharu Culture Show

Elephant Safari:

There are only two types of Elephant safaris in Chitwan National Park. Both take place in separate areas on the Sunali side of the park. One is government run the other is run privately. Government elephant safaris are held near the Chitwan national park ticket office. While private elephant safaris are held on the other side of Sauraha. Most adventures as many animals like one horned Rhinoceros, Rabbits, Wild Pigs etc. and if lucky than we can see Bengal.The elephant safari is one of the best ways to spot wildlife from up close. Because the elephants can come close to other animals without them noticing that there are people on the elephants back, you can come up to 1 meter from other animals.During the trip, you are never alone. The rider sits in the front and next to him; you are always accompanied by professional guides and naturalists. On the back of an elephant you can get very close to the wildlife. Beware that you have to be very quiet to do so! One sound and you will scare of the tigers, rhino's, deer's or one of the other animals.

Jeep Safari:

One of the options to see the wildlife in Chitwan national park is to go on a jeep safari. During this trip you will sit in de back of an open jeep to see the animals. The driver will stop to show places and animals. You will have a great opportunity to get some good pictures this way.During the trip, the guide will hang at the back of the vehicle to spot animals. He will also give information about the environment and the wildlife.

Elephant Breeding Farm:

Located in Sauraha the Elephant breeding center was set up to protect the endangered elephants in the region. There are often many baby elephants there and a small museum. The center is walkable from Sauraha but it will take 1 hour depending on the heat and road conditions. Tours or rickshaw transport are available part of the way.

Of all the animals, elephant probably the most graceful. Our naturalist will take you the hattisar to demonstrate how elephant's meals are prepared and how they eat in the elephant breeding center. They will explain the nature and habits of elephants. The unique center was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of domesticated elephant trapping for domestication.

The Tharu Culture Program:

The Cultural Programorganized at Sauraha, Meghauli plays a significant role to entertain the tourist visiting Chitwan (Sauraha and Meghauli) and to introduce the Tharu Culture and tradition to the tourists. Majority of the tourist arriving at Chitwan have experience the Tharu culture program.

Spectators get full entertainment by the Tharu dances. Dances like Danda Nach (Stick Dance) and Ago Nach (Fire Dance) Mayur Nach (Peacock Dance) are some the popular highlights of the culture show. The program start at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm every evening or on Demand and lasts for 45 minutes. The cultural program has helped spread awareness about the Tharu culture throughout the world.
