Swyambhunath

An ancient stupa located in the Buddha Area of Kathmandu is one of the famous pilgrimage site not only for Buddishists but also for all the religious group who visit from within and outside of Nepal. It is believed to be built inaround 5th century. It is one of the holiest shrines for Buddhists all over the world. It is the largest stupa found in Nepal and holiest of all Buddhist temples outside Tibet. It is the focal point of Tibetan Culture inside the Kathmandu and all major holy Buddhist events and festivals are celebrated here. It attracts thousands of tourists from Nepal as well as outside Nepal .There are more than 45 other Buddhist Monasteries in this area.
